A story of another polish immigrant...

-...DID YOU LOOK FOR JOB TODAY?!!!!!!!!
The usuall screaming coming from my dear dad's mouth disturbed my afternoon nap...
- I did dad, its just nothing out there...(my usuall answer)
Truth was that I didn't even try looking, ok I did little bit, I bought newspaper, I circled some ads, I even call some companies, but the problem was that I had no idea WHAT I REALLY WANT TO DO! I just graduated college, bachelor degree in economy...sounds good but none of this goodness stayed in my head, I'm absolutly not a economist and I knew that in spite of having this glorious degree I will never be one! Well my dad thought oposite... he had this dream that I'll become one day CEO of National Tresury or at least marry one...
Living with my parents, having no goals in life, watching my girlfriends getting married one after another to some baby making machines when I didn't even have a freakin' boyfriend was soooo depresing, I was trapped... so what else to do...? RUNAWAY. As far as you can. Europa was way too close, so what is far enough?...of course AMERICA. The easiest way to get there and not having visa problems was to become an au pair (read: freakin' nanny) so I became one... I gathered all my little neighbours, took some lovey dovey pictures with them, got some fake ass (excuse my language) references, send it to agency and was waiting....and waiting....and then phone rang. Some sweet american voice ask me if I wanna come to Wisconsin...
-Wisconsin? I asked -Is it in America? Well I was hoping that only rich Americans from California or Floryda or at least New York will need me...Wisconsin, where is Wisconsin?!!!!
-oh don't worry! lady answered... - its beautiful here, we have many lakes and trees and cheese and you'll love it!
I didn't think so...I was about to hang up and then...my dad came from work with another newspaper screaming: -I'll find you a job daughter if you don't know how, oh as God is my witness, I'll find it!!!!! My knees got soft, I was about to passed out but I managed to whisper to the wisconsin lady:- I'm coming, get me ticket as soon as you can, I'm coming... On April 29th 2002 I put my feet on wisconsin land...I was saved.. at least I thought so...
